Research Guidelines

Essential Questions:     

  • What conflicts and events led to/caused the American revolution?   What was the relative importance of each event in this chain of British action-colonial response-British reaction (and on)? 
  • What did each event contribute to …. 
    • AN INDEPENDENT / UNIQUE/DISTINCT AMERICAN POINT OF VIEW – 
      • How are Americans’ views of Parliament, and England in general, evolving?  
      • How does a unique American point of view, different from and opposed to the British point of view, take hold? 
    • INTERCOLONIAL COOPERATION AND LINKAGES  UNITY  - 
      • What kind of people are involved in what kinds of protest actions? 
      • Are the actions in primarily one region/colony or are they spreading and coordinated throughout the colonies?  
      • Are colonies uniting – in opposition to England?
